Mayor Prerna Bhardwaj
On the 20th May, I was fortunate to be elected as the Mayor of Gerrards Cross, a role that gives me immense pride and honour. Since my election, I have been busy making the most of my privileged position and hope to continue improving our wonderful town. I am proud to report that Gerrards Cross did well in the Buckinghamshire Best Kept Village competition and we will be receiving our certificate of merit soon. Due to the hard work of our Clerk, Pravina Patel, and our Councillors, we received full marks on our ponds, commons and war memorial. We hope to improve our score further next year. I have been speaking to local schools to inspire the younger generation to enter into politics and help make a difference to our society. We are working with Buckinghamshire Council and the Pesticide Action Network to go pesticide free and use alternatives to Glyphosate which has been found to be harmful to children and animals.
The Town Council will be arranging a weed picking session in Spring and will be sharing the date of this soon. As we look back at 2024, we held the King Charles Party in the Park and ended the year with our vibrant Christmas extravaganza which was well attended and enjoyed by all.
If there’s anything further I can assist you with or if you have any further ideas for our wonderful town, please feel free to get in touch with me: [email protected]
