About Gerrards Cross
Gerrards Cross is a civil parish, one of 12 in South Bucks District. Gerrards Cross Town Council (GXTC) consists of 12 elected councillors, assisted by two part-time staff. Its aim is to keep Gerrards Cross a pleasant place in which to live and, where possible, to improve its amenities.
It manages the commons and ponds of Gerrards Cross and it also owns and manages The Camp (Bulstrode Camp), an early British Iron Age fort covering more than 10 hectares. Street lighting, other than on trunk roads, is maintained by GXTC. It also inspects footpaths and acts to prevent their being overgrown by hedges or undergrowth.
The Town Council
Gerrards Cross Town Council is the more local of the two tiers of government which represent Gerrards Cross.
The other tier (established on 1st April 1st 2020) – which has replaced the old Bucks County Council and the District Councils (South Bucks District Council) with a new unitary authority – is Buckinghamshire Council (based in Aylesbury).
