Our Highways
Gerrards Cross Town Council has a dedicated Highways Committee which does its best to oversee the maintenance of its roads and streets as we are the only town in Buckinghamshire with devolved responsibility to repair our B and C roads. With the precept budget allocated to the town council, we are constantly striving to improve the roads in our town.
We’re currently embarking on two road safety improvements on behalf of our residents on Marsham Lane and Mill Lane. We hope to have the works completed before the end of the year. This should provide a safer environment for children attending the Church of England School on Moreland Drive and make safer passage for individuals crossing the Marsham Lane bridge.
The Town Council Highways Committee take very seriously the spending of precept monies. We do our best to fill and repair potholes where we can. As with every other town and parish, we have endured a very difficult winter and spring with severe cold and a very wet start to the year. This has literally created more road faults than would have ever been envisaged and we would encourage you to report any problems that you see on www.fixmystreet.com.
With two Buckinghamshire Unitary Councillors on the Town Council, our voice is heard by the Highways team in Aylesbury, and we’ll continue to campaign for more activity on our roads, on our drains and gullies and on our pathways in the Town. We won’t always get what we ask for, but will do our absolute best for the Town.
